ModbusTCP in automation - flexible & safe

The main feature of the ModbusTCP I/O modules of the ET-2200 and ET-7200 series are the two Ethernet ports with "daisy chain" function. These enable convenient cabling in series. This results in a significant reduction of effort and costs for cabling compared to a star-shaped network structure. Since each module functions as a two-port switch, large-area networks are also possible over distances of 100m.

If a ModbusTCP module in the series fails, the "LAN bypass" protection function ensures continuous data communication. In addition, the cable break detection as well as the configuration options for the switch-on values and the setting of the safe values provide the necessary safety in the industrial environment. A special function is the "I/O Pair Connection", with the help of which a digital input of one module is directly mirrored to a digital output of another module.
